Receiving a diagnosis of advanced, Stage 4 cancer is nothing short of devastating. Questions like “How did I get here?” and “What happens now?” can haunt the minds of patients and their loved ones, who are often dreadfully unprepared for the road ahead.

Like so many men, author Tom MacKenzie thought he was Superman—until he was diagnosed with Stage 4 prostate cancer. That realization inspired him to write Superman’s Adventure with Prostate Cancer: One man’s navigation through the twists and turns of advanced prostate cancer.

This book is a personal chronicle of Tom’s journey with this disease, giving readers an intimate look at a battle none of us ever hope to fight. It details ten years of various treatment modalities and offers an insider’s view of their effects. More notably, it highlights the importance of hope, resilience, spiritual transformation, and humor—perhaps the best medicines ever formulated.

During this special event, co-sponsored by heart2heartnc and Sacred Path Community, Tom will read powerful excerpts from Superman’s Adventure with Prostate Cancer and share reflections from his personal journey. The proceeds from book sales are donated to Healing Cancer Journeys, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides education and fosters community for people exploring psychedelic medicines in their cancer journey. The book is available for purchase on Amazon, as well as at the event.
