Grief Journey Support Services
Everyone’s grief is unique–we experience it in our own way and in our own time. Losing a loved one and the acute or extended grief that follows can be emotionally, mentally, spiritually, and physically exhausting. Acknowledging and accepting the pain that comes during the grief journey is the first step on the path to healing and hope. During the grief journey, heart2heartnc can provide support through touch and sound sessions and the creation of grief rituals.
If you would like to learn more about our Grief Journey Support services, please contact Cathy Brooksie Edwards at 919-548-4963 or heart2heartnorthcarolina@gmail.com.
Uniquely designed according to the wishes of a family member, friend, or caregiver, touch and sound sessions are held in a non judgmental space with a licensed counselor/bodyworker and a sacred sound musician. After a verbal check-in to assess physical and emotional changes and needs, the heart2heartnc team creates an environment where the profound power of touch and sound brings about deeper states of relaxation and sets the stage for physically and emotionally transformative experiences.
These sessions, which are typically 90 minutes in length, can take place in our Pittsboro or Moncure office, or your chosen location.
Touch and Sound Sessions
Creating an intentional space to express and feel shared grief allows for deepening connections, integration of emotions, and creating important family memories and traditions. We work with families and friends to design grief rituals as a sacred way to honor and celebrate a loved one and/or help process grief. These rituals, which can reflect traditions or desires of family members and friends, include elements such as fire, live music, spoken words, and a personalized altar. This heart-centered offering allows everyone to be a part of the healing process.
