Students are invited for an opportunity to explore the concepts, and learn the hands-on-healing techniques of serving the dying patient. heart2heartnc is part of a renewed movement in the awakening of natural death. Learn how to help people make their final transition with ease and deep meaning, and less fear.

We will explore our own emotional responses, concepts, beliefs and feelings of our losses, while working with the dying client. Additionally, we will strengthen our methods of self-care and supporting healthy boundaries in our work.

This is an interactive course that includes a blend of small group discussion, case studies, experiential awareness exercises, skill development, demonstration and hands-on practice. Time is dedicated to creating a safe, nurturing and ritual space to explore this sensitive process.

Learning Objectives:

  • Explore ways to deepen our mindful communication skills for the end of life client and their families.

  • Gain an understanding of how end-of-life care is orchestrated and the different professionals that are included in this process.

  • Discuss and practice positioning adjustments, hands-on techniques, and energy holds to safely meet the dying person's needs.

Note: This workshop does not meet the requirements of Ethics Education Credits for license renewal. It does meet the requirements for recertification with NCBTMB #1000907.
